One of the new Ice Cream Sandwich striking highlights is the facial recognition, an application that allows you to unlock the device using facial recognition. ICS is not yet available, but we could have a similar functionality through the application Visidon AppLock.

Visidon AppLock is an application that allows us to protect the phone in a comfortable and fast through facial recognition. In addition to allowing any application to be protected (Gallery, SMS, email, contacts, Facebook, enter others) in the same way, to maintain security and privacy of all the content we have in our device. In other words, AppLock Visidon could choose the applications you want protect by a "key" that is our face.

How does it work? The application uses the phone's front camera (those without one, stay away from this application) and verify in real-time that the face match the one set up as a pattern to allow access to any particular application.

When Face Unlock was introduced in the event that Google and Samsung introduced the Nexus Galaxy and Ice Cream Sandwich, the application failed to work, therefore, to avoid such problems, you should also set a password  just in case.

Anyway, please be careful to use this application, as you can see in the video below, we found a security issue when we tested it with a photo and it unlocked the phone. Apparently, this bug won't be present in Android 4.0 ICS

AppLock Visidon can be downloaded from the Android Market for free. Further, there is a Plus version is priced at 2.76 US dollars.

Note: To use this application requires Android 2.3 Gingerbread and a front camera device.
